Sabah Tourism Song Composition Competition: Calling All Maestros and Songwriters
KOTA KINABALU, 28 November 2016 – Entries are now open for the Sabah Tourism Song Composition Competition, organised by the Jesselton Philharmonic Orchestra (JPO).

The competition is commissioned by the Sabah Ministry of Tourism, Culture & Environment and calls for song writers and composers to create a song dedicated to the natural beauty and charm of Sabah.

There are 2 (two) categories as follows:

A. MELODY & LYRICS:
Competition is open to all musicians in Sabah only. Closing date for submissions is 30th December 2016. The winner will be notified and announced in the Sabah Tourism website (www.sabahtourism.com) on 7th January 2017. Winner will receive RM5,000.00.

B. ORCHESTRATION FOR THE WINNING MELODY & LYRICS
Competition is open to all musicians in Malaysia upon the announcement of Melody & Lyrics winner on 7th January 2017. Entrants can download the winning melody and lyrics by visiting www.sabahtourism.com . Closing date for submissions is 25th February 2017. The winner will be notified and announced in the Sabah Tourism website (www.sabahtourism.com) on 4th March 2017. Winners will receive RM5,000.00.

Lyrics must be in Bahasa Malaysia, English or Mandarin. The winning song will debut during Sabah Fest 2017 in May, coinciding with JPO’s 10-year anniversary.

Interested parties may download the registration form by logging on to www.sabahtourism.com or filling in the form at the Sabah Tourism or Sri Pelancongan Sabah office counters. Entries in MP3 format can then be uploaded at the dedicated site via www.sabahtourism.com or dropped off at the Sabah Tourism/Sri Pelancongan Sabah counters.

Entrants are advised to read the Terms & Conditions thoroughly to ensure all requirements are met.
